Antique spurs evoke the Wild West and the superb horsemen who would have used them– not on the horses, but as status symbols and decoration. Still life drawing from a pair of spurs from Argentina that I acquired years ago and have wanted to draw for a long time. For years the detailing and chains intimidated me so I didn’t give it a go until this summer. I’m glad now that I finally mustered the courage to try.
